Backups

Daily, weekly, and monthly
Backups are critical to ensuring business continuity and protecting your content from data-loss. We've worked tirelessly to develop an internal backup architecture that protects all of your content, system information, and databases. The backup architecture is completely automated and stores backups of all of your data in daily, weekly, and monthly increments.

Database backups
Our backup architecture uses MySQLs internal dump scripts to separately backup your databases and ensure data integrity. When a restore is needed we can restore an entire database or setup a temporary MySQL server where you can browse archived copies of your databases and select which specific tables you would like restored.

Quick restores
All data is backed up without compression. This means all of the files are ready for immediate retrieval and can be restored to your system within minutes.

Incremental
To preserve your system resources our backup solution is designed to be incremental. After the initial backup run it only transfers files that have been modified from the prior run. This allows the backups to run very quickly and be non-intensive for your server.

Software Installation
Our technical support department can install any software that has accompanying documentation. Please refer to our Managed Applications list to see some of the most commonly installed and supported software. Even if the software you request isn't on the list, we'll install it and manage it for you.

OS and Application performance optimization
We go in depth when it comes to ensuring that your server is operating at maximum efficiency. This includes tuning system options that can improve how your applications interact with your server hardware and also tuning application settings such as enabling caching or reverse proxy caching to accelerate your websites.

No extra charges
Our management services are included in our fully managed hosting packages, so there are no surprises at the end of the month. Controlling costs is just one of the ways we give back to our customers and encourage them to focus on growing their business.

Application troubleshooting
If anything on your server isn't working our technical support staff will troubleshoot it. We work tirelessly investigating issues, identifying the cause and then remedying it directly. To aid this process we use our system resource graphing, performance analysis tools, and even go so far as tracing through applications to see where the errors originate. You can rest assured that our staff doesn't stop working on your issue until its identified and completely resolved.

With all of this management you determine your own level of involvement. We'll install your software, configure it, optimize it, and troubleshoot it. The net effect is that you have more time to focus on running your business.

Proactive Monitoring

Immediate response
Our monitoring was designed with intelligence, instead of simply checking whether a port is open, our monitoring checks whether or not your visitors are receiving a webpage or an error message, or looks at your overall traffic patterns and alerts our technical support staff. Should an alert be triggered our technical support staff is immediately alerted and they are on your server within seconds troubleshooting the issue and minimizing its effect. Our support staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Bandwidth threshold monitoring
Whether it be a high traffic spike because your website was just slashdotted or linked on digg, or a mischievous user hot-linking to your content, our bandwidth threshold monitoring alerts our technical support staff when your server experiences a large traffic spike. They investigate the source of the traffic increase and notify you immediately. If it is determined that the traffic is not from a legitimate source, our staff will take action on your behalf, ensuring the best possible experience for your legitimate users. Likewise, if your traffic drops below a minimum threshold value the support staff is able to respond immediately, addressing any arising problems or warning signs of trouble on the horizon.

URL content monitoring
Websites are now not just dependent on your web server being operational, but also your database server and other supporting applications. Often times the web server can be functioning correctly but your website could be displaying an error message to visitors. URL content monitoring is able to poll your website and determine if visitors are getting the fully loaded page or an error.

Custom monitoring
If your application requires a more fine grained monitoring solution our technical support staff is able to draft up customized scripts that specifically monitor core aspects. This has included monitoring for wowza servers, mysql slow queries, and java processes.
