Full System Backups - We configure
your system backups to store all necessary
information to recover your server from
a critical failure. This means that in the
case of a complete loss of data or a system
that is entirely unrecoverable we are able
to install a fresh copy of your Operating
System on a new Harddrive and have all of
the data at our disposal to restore your
configurations and content, getting your
server back online as if it never went down.
No Tape Drives - The original standard
for backups was to store data on tape drives,
however, with the decreased cost, increased
capacity and stability of harddrives tape
backups are losing their appeal. In our
backup systems we employ no tape drives,
the benefits of harddrives as the medium
of storage are quite clear. The greatest
difficulty in using tape drives is managing
and archiving their contents. A backup company
has to manage hundreds of tape disks, it
needs to maintain proper catalogs, then
it needs to locate the proper disk, spend
time loading it, then accessing the data.
All of this is lost time and increased chance
that the disk may be misplaced or other
factors may arise that prevent you from
having access to your data.
No Compressed Data - The benefit
of data compression in backups is that more
backup images can be stored on a particular
medium, however, compressing backups makes
it more difficult to traverse the listings.
If you need a specific file or directory
restored it needs to be located, then extracted.
By not using compression we always have
instant access to any file that was backed
up. The end result is the quickest time
possible for restoration of specific files
and/or directories.
Fastest Recovery Times - Because
the same technical support staff that manages
your server will be performing the backup
restoration we are able to deliver the quickest
recovery times possible, as the technical
staff is already intimately aware of your
server's configuration. In addition all
data is transferred over the Local Area
Network (LAN) allowing us to maximize your
server's throughput.
Incremental Data Transfer - After
your first initial backup is performed,
each successive backup only transfers files
that have been modified. This decreases
the load on your server during the backup
window, minimizes throughput, and greatly
speeds up the process by as much as 85 to
95%.
No Intermediary Third Party - When
performing a system recovery time is of
the essence, every minute that goes by is
lost business. By using us for your web
hosting and system backups there is no need
to contact a third party and arrange a method
for data transfer. The same techs who perform
routine maintenance on your server and manage
its services will be the same techs who
will be performing the system restoration.
They are already have intimate knowledge
of how your server is setup, allowing us
to offer a recovery time that is faster
than any third party could offer. The more
individuals that are involved in the recovery
the greater the chance for miscommunication
or confusion to arise. In addition you arent
hampered by possible internet latency or
a bad uplink on the data backup service
since your system restoration will be performed
over the local area network allowing us
to maximize the 100Mbps throughput on your
server. |
